Intelligence That Neither Hears Nor Sees

« A blind man knows he cannot see, and is glad to be led, though it be by a dog, but he that is blind in his understanding, which is the worst blindness of all, believes he sees as the best, and scorns a guide. » Samuel Butler

From Where Does the Intelligence Community Get Its Intelligence?

On February 13, the American intelligence community issued its Worldwide Threat Assessment. It is a frightening document to read. On North Korea, the agencies that hear everything cannot seem to hear anything North Korea has said; on Iran, the agencies that see everything cannot seem to see what they have long known.

Imad Mughniyah, the great military strategist

He revolutionized the art of war, infusing a new philosophy of combat by adapting the strategy to the conditions of geography and local culture. His vision of the world is that of great men and overcoming injustice was his obsession. No matter what community you belong to, for him you were first a free human being and you had to remain so. He was inspired by the great revolutionary movements, the great Vietnamese and Algerian resistances and the great resistance fighters who refused to submit.

He never cared what could be their origin, he was either inspired by the great Imam Hussein (Grandson of Messenger Mohammed), Argentinean Che Guevara or Vietnamese General Giap. They also could be Algerian militants from ALN, Uruguayans of Tupamaros or South African ANC militants. It is this spiritual inspiration that unites all men to fight for their freedom. Because it emphasized the spiritual aspect of combat, the soul of combat is first out of an extra sensory essence … Lire la suite Imad Mughniyah, the great military strategist

When Washington is crushed by Tehran, they blame it on Arabs !

Most of the analyses present the confrontation that takes place in the Middle East in terms of a battle of influence between Iran and Saudi Arabia, in other words between Persians and Arabs. The media propaganda with the help of politicians has been trying hard to cover it up at times as a war between Shia and Sunnah Muslims. This could have been true if Saudi Arabia was an independent and sovereign state.

In fact, since The Quincy Agreement, sealed on February 14, 1945, between President Roosevelt and King Abdul Aziz of Saudi Arabia all experts and historians know that it is the United States that has assumed full responsibility for the security of the Arab-Persian Gulf area not only for oil sake but also for strategic issues dealing with the region’s security as the centre of the US ‘vital interests’. This means that Washington makes this space an almost American colony, something next to Puerto Rico’s status. Let’s say « an implicit agreement. »

Trump’s Team Embraces Iranian Myths

Key players in the Trump administration have stuck to the neoconservative insistence on “regime change” in Iran rather than take a fresh look at the reality, as ex-CIA analyst Paul R. Pillar explains.

By Paul R. Pillar

Some hardline myths about Iran never seem to die. One myth especially pertinent to U.S. policy is that revolutionary regime change in Iran is a significant possibility in the near future and that with a bit more of a push from the outside, the Islamic Republic will collapse and be replaced by something much more to our liking.
